We do: over and over

For 30 married years, my husband and I quietly repeat our wedding vows during weddings we attend.  We hold hands, just as we did the first time, and let the words of commitment form on our lips once again  -  I do.
"And the two shall become..."

Two small words, spoken with  promise;
Thirty years, promise kept;
Through long nights and short fights;
Through sickness and health;
Love remains, because
We do: over and over again...
holy experience

  1. Such a special and tender tradition, Donna. Thanks for sharing that creative action.

  2. Beautiful! I *love* "renewing" our vows at weddings too. :)

  3. I never thought about doing this. What a beautiful tradition.

    I am visiting from High Calling Blogs. I'm new over there and thought I'd strat introducing myself to my new neighbors.

  4. I haven't been to a wedding in a while, but suddenly we have two friends marrying later this summer. I'll remember this post on those two occasions, at the repeating of the vows, when we hear "I do."
